Quite often we are not quite on top of things here at the top of Virginia, especially in the whole wide world of Economic Development. In our field as practitioners of commercial real estate, we should be one or two steps ahead of almost everyone else, not in what is happening because everyone will be aware of that, BUT what will be happening. The further we see ahead of the general public the more prepared we will be in providing our client base good and meaningful information which may have an effect on their business and their investment strategies. How do we prepare ourselves to be professional advisors? We go to the source. Sometimes the source will be able to help, and in many cases the information may be sensitive, and we have to prepare ourselves in how to read the tea leaves.
