One of Us

You’ve taken the big step to become a real estate agent and are either holding your license at a firm or in the process of doing so. What’s next?

Time to become a member of one of the best local associations in Virginia!  The Blue Ridge Association of REALTORS® welcomes new members and encourages you to join this amazing group of hardworking REALTORS® and Affiliates.

We work as One team, and we hold many opportunities for you to get to know your fellow agents and the staff at BRAR.

If you are considering transferring to BRAR from another association, please check out all we have to offer and the wonderful family like feeling of belonging to BRAR, where we are large enough to offer all the career advancing education, events, and advocacy you need, but small enough where you will not be “just a number.”

After you procure your real estate license and decide where you will be working (brokerage), there is one last step to becoming a REALTOR®. New members must take an orientation class at BRAR. These classes are offered every other month and provide new members with basics in the Bright Multiple Listing Service along with information that is helpful during your years with BRAR. The morning portion of New Member Orientation is the NAR Code of Ethics class. This is a class needed every three years to maintain your REALTOR® status. The afternoon will focus on Bright MLS and information from staff and leadership on what it means to be a part of the association. At the conclusion of the Orientation, you will be inducted into the REALTOR® family and given a pin that will designate you as a REALTOR®
